Apple IT training and OS 27: prepare your IT team’s skills

Created 25 October 2026 · Apple source checked 25 October 2026, publication date not stated · Milestone analysed: 29 October 2026

Apple has announced refreshed English IT learning paths for October 29. IT leaders can use this milestone to organise skills development around the new operating systems. Our method connects training, lab validation and production procedures.

1. The schedule confirmed by Apple

Apple’s IT Training page announces new English versions of the Apple Device Support and Apple Deployment and Management courses for October 29, 2026. They will cover iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate. Registration for the new exams opens that day; Apple says registration for the current exams covering version 26 systems has already closed.

Localized courses and exams are announced for January 28, 2027. The page does not specify the languages. This schedule concerns training and exams; it is not an instruction to migrate the fleet.

2. Build a useful skills matrix

We recommend starting with each team’s actual tasks. For support, select sign-in, application access, networking and diagnostic scenarios. For administrators, select enrollment, MDM profiles, update management and device returns. For security, select the evidence required and escalation procedures.

Assign each scenario an owner, a backup and an observable outcome. A technician should be able to reproduce the diagnosis on a pilot device and explain when to escalate. The aim is measurable operational coverage beyond simply completing a course.

3. Turn training into deployment acceptance tests

Prepare a lab isolated from production, with representative devices and test accounts. Record the operating system version, MDM settings and business dependencies for every test. The following topics are our proposed acceptance tests; they do not anticipate the detailed content of the new courses.

Verify assignment in Apple Business Manager and the organisation’s intended Automated Device Enrollment workflow. Test identity and SSO, including a failed sign-in and its support process. Check security policies, FileVault on Mac and the management evidence available in the MDM.

Test Wi-Fi, access to internal resources and business applications with a standard-privilege account. Record gaps, the person responsible for remediation and production acceptance criteria. Passing an exam does not replace validation of your configuration and applications.

4. What changes for a Belgian or French organisation

For an SME, we recommend two people able to handle essential incidents, with a partner for escalations. For a mid-sized organisation, large enterprise or public administration, a matrix by role and site helps prepare backups and deployment waves without concentrating all knowledge in one person.

French-speaking teams can prepare a shared glossary and French procedure sheets now. From October 29, they can review the new English learning paths before deciding whether to take them or wait for the announced localized versions. For organisations operating in Belgium, France and elsewhere in Europe, we recommend keeping validation criteria consistent across sites while adapting support hours and working languages.

5. Underside analysis: connect skills to evidence

Our assessment is that this milestone should trigger a review of responsibilities rather than an automatic migration. Useful skills show up in a resolved incident, a repeatable enrollment or verifiable security evidence. We recommend keeping the scenario, test result, procedure and owner’s name together.

Before enrolling the entire team, ask a lead administrator to review the new learning paths and compare them with gaps observed in daily operations. Then prioritise tasks that actually block service delivery. This approach helps distribute training effort without requiring everyone to follow the same schedule.

Recommendation: before October 29, appoint leads and prepare lab scenarios. Once the courses are available, compare them with your needs and update validated procedures.
